Clipboard management on iOS is tricky. Most solutions until now were either half baked thanks to the OS limitations or just plain painful to use. Clean Shaven Apps of Dispatch fame have released a fantastic solution to clipboard management on iOS with Clips for iOS 8. The app is universal and it is one of the most powerful and well designed apps on iOS. Clips has four parts. The first and most important part is the today widget. When you copy something to the clipboard, Clips’ widget updates and lets you add it with a tap. This is synced to…

Design Shots for iPhone is a really great Dribbble app. It has been consistently getting better with each update. Today version 3.0 is out and I love it. Design Shots has great animations and gestures throughout. Swiping from the edge of the screen to go back isn’t boring and is reminiscent of Vesper. The big change in 3.0 barring support for the larger displays on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is support for the new Dribbble API. You can now comment on shots, like shots, and follow users right from within the app after logging in. I love the…
Although iOS has always had some of the best apps compared to other mobile platforms, most of these apps have had to use too many workarounds to get things done well. All that changed when Apple announced iOS 8. All these years, 3rd party apps for Pinboard have had to use things like Safari bookmarklets on iOS to make saving things easier. Pinner 3 by Sam Oakley is the first Pinboard app to take advantage of the new features available on iOS 8 and it has replaced Pushpin on my Homescreen over the last few weeks. Pinner 3 sports a…
Evernote has always had great design on all platforms that it is available on. When iOS 7 was released, Evernote got a huge update and they actually did something unique with the interface instead of just going all white. The app has evolved so much on iOS since then with themes, new features and today version 7.5 releases with a plethora of brilliance, ready for iOS 8. Evernote for iOS 8 now has a systemwide extension that lets you share your content including photos, documents, and web pages to Evernote from any app that uses the native share menu. There’s…
Clear by Realmac Software is easily one of the best apps out there right now. It is simple and beautiful. I love everything about it. Version 1.4 brought support for due times and dates and as expected, the sync across devices was flawless. Clear as a productivity suite, is easily one of the most elegant solutions to managing tasks. Today Clear 1.5 is out and it brings a Notification Center widget for your upcoming tasks. A lot of apps have been updated with support for widgets and while most of them look great, Clear manages to fit perfectly in your…
Retro is a great iPad Instagram viewer app. Today it received a nice iOS 8 specific update that brought support for logging in with 1Password and a lovely Today widget. The Today widget in Retro lets you view the latest images from your Instagram feed and subscribed hashtags and users. It looks really nice and saves a lot of time. There’s almost no need to open the app each time to glance through your feed now. I subscribed to Mextures and Nintendo and these feeds show up below my main Instagram feed on the widget. Retro is available for free…
