Hangouts 2.0 for iOS Google has been releasing and updating apps consistently on iOS and the only app missing right now is Google Keep. They released Hangouts on iOS the same day as they did on Android. They’ve also been doing some great things with design on iOS. Hangouts as a service has always been great but the iOS apps have been beyond lacking. It almost felt like the team that did the Mac Messages app worked on Hangouts for iOS. All that changes as of now. 2.0 just hit and the update is great. Not only does it fix…

In a time when the makers of Candy Crush Saga file for an IPO and sue developers who use Candy in their name, mobile gaming is seen in quite the poor light. This is where puzzle games like Lyne come into the picture. Lyne is a great example of mobile gaming done right. The fact that features of a game list things like “no ads or in app purchases” is just sad. Lyne by Thomas Bowker is a puzzle game done right.
Textastic for iPad 5.0 Textastic was always the best code editor for your iPhone and iPad. Textastic 5.0 for iPad just hit with a fresh coat of iOS 7 paint and while the interface update is good, I’m pretty blown away by the additions to the keyboard within the app. There’s a row of keys above the stock iOS keyboard that lets you input 50 different characters without having to change the keyboard. Pinswift 1.1 I got to know about Pinswift by Joel Carranza for Pinboard when Viticci said it was the app that replaced all the other Pinboard apps on his phone and made it to his homescreen. Pinswift received a huge update recently and it is now a universal app. Pinswift’s navigation and bookmark actions make it really great. Swiping a bookmark to the left brings up the share sheet and swiping it to the right brings up a bookmark view in the middle of the screen. This lets you edit, delete or mark the bookmark as read while it displays…
Tengami by Nyamyam is a popup book style puzzler game with a Japanese touch. The screenshots of the game pretty much sell the art style to you instantly. After watching the trailer, Tengami looked like something I would love because of the #sworcery-esque gameplay and uniqueness.
Scantastic Goes Universal I wrote about Scantastic early this January and said it was the best looking scanner app for your iPhone. As of today, Scantastic has been updated to version 1.1 and it is now a universal app with full iPad support. The performance in the app has also improved considerably. Scantastic fully supports 64-bit processors now and syncs your documents across devices. Even the launch image on the iPad is just gorgeous. Scantastic is available on the App Store as a universal app for $1.99.
