Ghost is the popular open-source blogging platform that was born out of a Kickstarter campaign a little over four years ago. It features a minimal writing environment that lets you focus on your writing and publish content without having to worry about anything else. Ghost is a fantastic platform for professional bloggers and there’s now a growing community of theme and integrations developers available for it. Although I personally prefer using WordPress and Squarespace, Ghost is fast becoming a platform that’s difficult to avoid, thanks to its growing list of features. Similar to WordPress, the platform is available free for…

Just a few weeks ago, we wrote about Watchlist — a gorgeous iPhone app that helps you quickly bookmark movies for watching later. Although there are several other similar apps out there, Watchlist stands out from the rest thanks to its beautifully crafted design and to its ‘Where to Watch’ feature that displays where a certain movie is available for streaming or purchase. Today, Watchlist v1.1 is out on the App Store that adds support for TV Shows. Just like movies, you can now add any new TV shows you discover and watch them later. Unfortunately, this is a very…

Droplr has been my favorite ‘quick-sharing’ service for a long time now. The Droplr app has been an integral part of my menubar for a little over 7 years now and it has worked as a fantastic tool to share not just screenshots and URLs, but also photos, videos, clipboard contents, and many more formats. Droplr generates a short, unique URL for anything you upload, allowing you to share them with anyone. The service was completely revamped in 2015 and after all these years, Droplr now finally offers an official app for Android. Droplr started with a menubar app for…

Currency Converters are dime a dozen, so it is very rare to come across a currency converter app that leaves a lasting impression on you. I’ve written about quite a few currency converter apps for iOS, but one that I’ve always come back to is aptly called ‘Currency — Simple Currency Converter’. I first discovered Currency in April 2013 and was really impressed. It was a simple currency converter that was delightful to use. Alex and Matt had polished the app to perfection and it offered just the right amount of form and function in the package. The little animation…

A few months ago, Gal Shir posted this lovely and impressive animated GIF titled Responsive House on Dribbble. It features a slider that when moved from right to left, the house above it goes from 6 Rooms to 5 Rooms to 4 Rooms and then to 3 Rooms. It’s quite fascinating to look at that animation, so go ahead and check it out before reading any further. Gal also posted a video on his YouTube channel as to how he sketched the house on paper and then turned it into a digital version using Sketch. That video is embedded below.…

Symbolicons is an incredible set of icons designed by Jory Raphael. It includes hundreds of vector icons and glyphs that can be used by all kinds of designers and developers. I’ve seen a number of weather apps make use of the ‘Elements’ pack — which is a set of gorgeous little weather icons. Jory has now launched a new Kickstarter campaign for Symbolicons Pro that will deliver over 2000 icons, with an estimated delivery schedule of December 2017. The icons will be classified into 66+ categories and will be fully vector in nature, so they can be used anywhere you…
