Consume 2.0 — Usage Monitoring was Never this Delicious

Consume 2.0 — Usage Monitoring was Never this Delicious

Consume is a fantastic iOS app from the fine folks at Bjango that lets you monitor the usage of various service providers ranging from mobile and broadband to package delivery services. I don’t know about you, but I was very excited when Bjango first previewed the iPad version of Consume back in May 2010. I’d been using Consume on my iPhone for a few months back then and it was really a beautiful app full of stunning pixels in its UI — but the iPad preview was just so much better to look at.

After many months, Bjango has released version 2.0 of Consume that brings along a plethora of new features and even more stunning pixels. First and foremost, Consume 2.0 is now a universal app — so you can now drool over its gorgeous UI both on your iPhone and iPad. The update also brings along iCloud syncing and provider searching, the latter being a really helpful feature considering they support over 250 providers. There’s also background updating of providers and history graphs.

If I haven’t said it already, Consume 2.0 is absolutely gorgeous. The colors used, the subtle depths in the UI, the delicious layered chocolate cake while fetching data and simply every pixel in the app is just so good that I want to chew it off and munch on it. Bjango has added a good amount of slickness to the UI as well. While you can still swipe left/right to move between different providers on the iPhone, there’s now a bar at the bottom that lets you easily move between multiple providers on the fly. With this neat little transition, the provider cards zoom out (much like in Mobile Safari), except you can quickly move from the first to the last in a single swipe. Beautiful!

This is a free update to all existing Consume users. If you haven’t already purchased it, it sells for just $2.99 on the App Store.
