SmartNews is a really good looking app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices that lets you browse and read news & stories while on the go. SmartNews presents you with hand-picked & curated trending news & stories from across the globe and makes it easy to keep up with what’s happening around you, right in the palm of your hands.
All the content in the app is curated from a select set of partners and the articles are neatly categorized into different tabs that you can browse at the top of the UI. Each category is colored differently the list can be scrolled horizontally. You can also jump between these categories using edge swipes. Each tab presents a neat layout of articles, some with photo thumbnails. You can quickly scroll through the page and move onto the next tab. Tapping on an article title gives you two options to view it, either in the website’s original design or in a “SmartView”, which strips out all unnecessary elements on the page. SmartNews also delivers fresh news 3 times a day via Push Notifications and the app lets you set what time exactly you want your news to be delivered in the morning, midday and evening.
