A little while ago, we told you about Banca 6.0 the beautiful currency converter app for iOS that lets you quickly convert any number right from your Notification Center using a Today widget. Today, the Stacks 2.0 update has just hit the App Store and it offers a remarkable way of converting currency right in your browser.
We had previously written about Stacks 1.0 back in November 2013 and it had left us impressed. Today’s Stacks 2.0 update is a big release that brings some incredible new features to the app. The most notable feature in this release is a browser extension for Safari on iOS. Using this extension, you can convert any currency value on a website with a few simple taps. Let’s say you are browsing some products on Amazon.com and want to know what they’re priced at in Euros or Pounds. Simply tap on the share button, invoke the Stacks extension, select the from & to currency and boom, Stacks will have replaced the old currency value with the new ones, right there on the same page. It works like magic. Stacks claims to be the first and only app on the App Store that lets you convert currencies right in the browser.
Stacks 2.0 also includes two Today widgets, one for quick manual conversion & another for denominations. It also has a built-in calculator, so you can perform basic math on your converted values. If you like to keep a tab on how a currency is doing, there are historical charts & graphs that you can keep an eye on. You can also bookmark currencies if you want. You can choose between a dark & light mode, based on your liking.
Stacks 2.0 is a Universal app and is available as a Free update to existing users. In case you don’t already have it, you can buy it from the App Store for just $2.99.
