It’s also nice when that slate has beautiful looking things, rather than, well, Linux.
Edovia’s TouchPad for the iPad on first look seems like a scaled up version of the iPhone version. In fact, that’s pretty much what it is. The trackpad is much larger, the buttons are much larger, and the keyboard is much bigger. And you know what? It doesn’t feel wrong at all. Add to that the buttons are all so carefully polished with lepricon tears, I sometimes just launch the app just to look at it even though I have no reason to control it. All thanks to the works of graphics artist Jake Desaulniers (@desaulniers).
TouchPad costs $3.99, and is a universal app, so the same purchase is good for your iPhone as well. We’ll have a review up on SA sometime soon.

Even though Edovia is one of our sponsors, this article was not paid for.

I’m currently using Remote Buddy with a MacMini media center setup hooked up to my TV. It would be really neat to use TouchPad as a my controller, giving me a keyboard for when I need it.
I would use TouchPad when my laptop is connected to my TV while I’m showing off pictures and videos.
I’ll probably use it when watching the newest Lost episode :)
Definitely for TV use; even though I have an AppleTV I still need Hulu from time to time, and right now I have no way to control my MBP when it’s plugged in other than getting up.
I would use it for everything Apple’s own Remote.app can’t do, like control Front Row, iPhoto, or the DVD player, to name a few among many others.
Strikes me that an iPad running this App is the perfect link between tablet computing and desktop computing. Walk around using your iPad all day then sit down in front of your iMac and start controlling it without putting the iPad down.
Very neat. I’d love a copy.
I would probably use it for Front Row.
You know how awesome these remote touchpad apps can be. Just sit back and do your stuff. It just works.™
I would use TouchPad draw something on my Mac Mini, yeah, the big problem with my Mac Mini is that it doesn’t have a touchpad.
CS5 + touchpad + pogo would be sweet
I would use it to watch my favorite tv shows and listen to music when I am not directly in front of my mac.
Have been looking for something like this… would make for the perfect controller for my Mini+HT setup.
