Picking up friends and relatives from the airport is never fun. It can be a total annoyance to constantly check flight status, figure out when you need to leave the house, print out gate information, etc. And what if the flight gets delayed after you’ve left? It’s all a hassle. Thankfully the fine folks at Little Details have solved this problem with an absolutely stunning app called Just Landed.
I stumbled across this gem while browsing my Twitter timeline, and I have to say it’s one of the most beautiful apps I’ve come across in a long time. Every little detail is crafted perfectly within the app. It’s a rare feat for an app to not invoke a single complaint from me, but Just Landed managed to pull it off.
Just Landed isn’t all looks, there’s plenty of function to go with it. After entering flight information, you’re shown the flight’s current status. Since the flight number can represent multiple trips, you choose which one you would like information for.
If you know the flight information early enough, Just Landed will send you a push notification when you need to leave for the airport. It bases the information on how far away you are, and has the ability to kick you into Maps.app for driving directions if necessary.
Just Landed is a fantastic little app wrapped in a marvelous UI. If you’re a frequent traveler or picking someone up, this is definitely something you’ll want to check out. Just Landed is available for free on the App Store.

Ed’s Addendum: Nate himself recommended the app to me, but since Just Landed only supports US flights and wouldn’t have managed to test it, I figured it’d be a good idea to have Nate himself tell us about the app. While I couldn’t test the actual tracking of flights, I did manage to play around with the app and it has left me thoroughly impressed. As Nate tells us, the app has been finely crafted down to every pixel and there are tiny and subtle animations that are just brilliantly executed. If you’re still not convinced, just take a look at how beautiful the app’s website is.
