I have always loved photography apps on the iPhone that have a social element attached to them. After Instagram
completely revolutionized this particular category, a lot more creative ideas have debuted on the App Store. App developers continue to come up with unique ideas to make the simple task of clicking and sharing your photos with friends a lot more fun. We’ve seen apps like Vine, Piictu, Pixplit, Over, cinemagraph apps and countless others release for the iPhone and rise in popularity. Everlapse is the new kid on the block and is already a lot of fun.
Everlapse uses the concept of ‘clips’ that consist of one or more frames. A clip could be based around any topic or theme. For example, I started this clip titled ‘Pizzas’ and added two frames (photos) to it and posted it on Everlapse. Now, your friends and followers can choose to add more frames to this clip, continuing with the theme. You’ll notice several others have added photos of pizzas to this clip. Everlapse automatically plays through the frames in a clip, or you can tap to pause and tap and drag on either sides to skim through them one by one. To help you when posting a new frame to an existing clip, Everlapse shows you the onion layer of the previous frame so it becomes easy to align yours with it. This clip titled ‘Peaks’ is a perfect example of this.
Everlapse is a side-project of Sam Soffes (previously Roon & Cheddar) and the team at Seesaw. It has a beautiful, modern and elegant UI and I already love the activity currently happening on it. You can grab the app Free from the App Store.
