The moment Momento’s splash screen shows up, you know you’re in for a treat. The noisy background reminds you of an old parchment, perfect for penning down your thoughts. Which is what Momento is, an app to write down a journal of daily events.
Momento has got colours right. Right from the tab bar to the compose window. Rules lines with subtle crease shadows make the whole experience feel real. Considering it’s made by designers, I’m not surprised. Apart from its looks, the app is a fairly good journler. It doesn’t strive to be a notes app, instead focussing on penning down your memory. It also benefits from modern technology by allowing you to quickly look up dates, attach pictures, tags, and ratings.
The final output is a beautiful sheet of your own words, which look even better than they actually are. If diary writing is what the doctor ordered, there couldn’t be sweeter medicine. $2.99, or you can wait for a review on SA if you want to make sure it’s not just all empty pixels (It’s not).
