GrooveShark 2.0

I don’t use Grooveshark, nor do I have a jailbroken iPhone to test this one out. I got an email from a pixel addict, with these screenshots for Grooveshark 2.0. “Not so hot for the main page icon layout but the rest is totally sex.” Grooveshark costs $3, and is only available on Cydia. Here’s a review on SA of the previous version, by the aforementioned pixel addict Patrick Patience.

Tapas OS — Concept Internet Phone

Concept phones are always an interesting, as they allow the artist to experiment with radical user interfaces and concepts that aren’t necessarily bound by technology or a target market. Robin Zhu has been doing concept user interfaces for a while now, and his latest one “Tapas” is sort of an off-shoot between iOS and WebOS, with some real innovative gestures. Some of it is a bit ‘out there’ and extraneous, but interesting nonetheless. Like the guy who forwarded me the...

Collection of Beautiful iPhone Homescreen walls — Round 2

Our last roundup of awesome iPhone 4 wallpapers was especially well received. Many asked for a round 2. Contrary to what you might think, designers aren’t churning these out by the dozen, which is probably a good thing. I’ve made my best effort at finding and curating this second list, but it probably won’t be as good as the first. I pray you beg to differ.

Instagram: Fast, beautiful, photo sharing on your iPhone

The internet has so many image sharing platforms, but none of them so far have consolidated their activities into one workflow. I reviewed Meedeor a while ago, and continue to use it, but it doesn’t cover all its bases. Instagram is a brand new image sharing service and app, that aims to consolidate the shooting, processing, and sharing of images across services. Not just that, it aims to build a social network for all your shares, including a section for...

Droplr for iPhone dressed up pretty!

Whether you believe in the Droplr or Cloud religion, this is an app you have to pay attention to. Droplr has just got their iPhone app in the store, and oh my does it look hot! Droplr features the most delicious title bar I’ve seen of late. Sporting the native colour scheme of pale blue, the designers have added just the right amount of texture and shading to really make those buttons come alive. They’ve got a very lickable actions...

PlainText — Simple, Beautiful, Writing.

Jesse Grosjean, developer of Writeroom, has been working hard on a dropbox syncing writing app for iOS, and it’s finally here. PlainText is an ultra minimal beautiful writing app, that uses crowd favourite Dropbox for syncing its .txt files across. The writing interface is just a plain white screen, and you can even hide the sidebar by going fullscreen. One of the awesome things about PlainText’s fullscreen mode, is that it keeps a nice thick margin on both sides, so...
