There’s no scarcity of IM apps on the App Store. From official apps like Yahoo, AIM and Skype to multi-protocol apps like IM+ and Beejive, there’s enough choice for all kinds of users. But good looking IM clients so far there have been none.
Verbs is the new kid on the block and brings to the table two lovely things: elegant aesthetics and Cloud App integration. Being developed by Chaitanya at #Include Tech with the graphics designed by the lovely Alan van Roemburg, Verbs features some stunning pixels on every screen. The app only supports GoogleTalk protocol for now, but you can set up multiple accounts in it.
Verbs also uses MobileSafari’s approach of zooming out to reveal multiple tabs for each conversation. I’ve been using the app for the last 3 weeks and absolutely love this UI. Verbs displays the count of conversations open and also notifies you of a new message when you receive one.
Verbs has been submitted to the App Store and is currently pending approval. You can follow its status on twitter or browse through the screenshots and features here.
