A Look at Some Stunning Illustrations Created by Top Artists During the Beta of Affinity Designer for iPad

Earlier this week, Serif Ltd. released Affinity Designer for iPad, which the company had been working on for quite some time now. Here’s a collection of some incredible illustrations and artwork created by some top designers that they worked with during the app’s beta.

In 2018, we commissioned a select group of creatives to take part in a special Affinity Designer for iPad beta. The purpose of this was to get a mix of designers and illustrators to test the most ambitious app we’ve ever made. We recruited a mix of seasoned Affinity users, and some who’d never used Affinity for their work. Some of the participants had never used an iPad in their creative workflow either.

We set them all the same challenge… create your style of work using your workflow in Affinity Designer for iPad and tell us what you think of it.

The linked article has some of the most impressive work we’ve seen created on the iPad. You can grab Affinity Designer on the App Store for iPad here.

Affinity Designer Finally Releases on the App Store for iPad

Serif has just released the fantastic Affinity Designer for iPad today. Affinity Photo is already beyond brilliant on iPad and now we have both of Serif’s excellent professional apps on iPad. Going by the screenshots, it looks superb. I can’t wait to dig deep into it. The company is also offering a 30% launch discount for the app on the App Store right now.

If you’re planning on getting it, you need an iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad (2017) or later. The app has been optimised to use Metal and even supports 120fps panning and zooming on newer iPads that support that framerate.

We will have a full feature on Affinity Designer on iPad soon. For now, you can grab Affinity Designer on the App Store for iPad here.

Affinity Photo’s Windows Beta is a Godsend for PC Photographers

It’s all happening for Microsoft fans – First, the amazing Surface Studio was announced. Hot on the heels of this announcement, comes the news that Serif is launching a Beta for its 2015 Apple Mac App of the Year Award-winning pro imaging software for Windows, and what’s more, that it’s completely free for the duration of the Beta.

The best news of all is that the Beta (and, of course, the final software) will feature complete feature parity with the Mac app. The Windows app will also share the same backend, meaning that files on both platforms will be 100% compatible with each other. What amazed us the most, however, was that the Windows Beta will, in actual fact, gain some features before they are launched on version 1.5 of the Mac app, including HDR Merge, Batch Processing and Macros, to name a few.

Serif promises to launch a new build at least every week, so bugs should get squashed soon, and quick. We encourage you to give the Beta a spin. If you’re on the Mac, and don’t already have this award-winning Image Processing app, you can grab it from the Mac App Store here.
