Twitterrific for Mac — the adorable Twitter app by The Iconfactory has today gained some much-needed features such as support for multi-account actions, allowing you to post tweets, reply, retweet and like tweets using any account that you’re signed into. The Iconfactory’s Twitterrific for Mac Goes on Sale After Twitter for Mac is Discontinued

Earlier today, Twitter announced that it will be ending support for Twitter for Mac, the company’s long-neglected official app for Mac. Instead, the company is asking its users to use Twitter’s website in a browser — which is a ridiculously bad alternative.

In response to this move, the folks at The Iconfactory have lowered the price of Twitterrific for Mac – the fantastic app that was reborn as a Kickstarter project titled Project Phoenix. Usually priced at $19.99, Twitterrific for Mac will now be available for just $7.99.

Twitterrific for iOS Offers Alternative App Icons

Twitterrific — the popular Twitter client for iOS has introduced alternative app icons in their latest version. If you’re running iOS 10.3+, you can now customize the app icon from any of the four options. My personal favorite is the fourth one.

This feature was actually submitted along with other improvements as Version 5.17, but Apple rejected the app and the folks at The Iconfactory had to ship the version without the alternative app icons. Thankfully, the review team got back to their senses and this feature is now available.

Twitterrific for Mac’s Project Phoenix Reaches Funding Goal

Project Phoenix — The Iconfactory’s ambitious Kickstarter project to revive Twitterrific for Mac that we wrote about last month has now reached its funding goal of $75,000. This means that we’ll definitely see an all new version of Twitterrific for Mac soon, with an early beta expected to hit the campaign’s backers in a few months.

That said, the campaign still has 8 more days to go before it ends and we’re hoping it meets its first stretch goal of $100,000, failing which the app won’t have DM support in the initial release.

It boggles my mind knowing that I have spent almost ten years on Twitter. I still remember signing up on Twitter on August 15th, 2007, while attending to some tasks I had to finish for Burrp! the next day. Whatever I am today, and whatever I have achieved in the last 10 years, I owe a lot of it to Twitter — the people I have met, the [...]
