All those who can effortlessly choose colours raise your hands! The medium that is the internet doesn’t quite allow me to see through the other end, but if I could take a guess, not many. Choosing one colour is one thing, but to choose a set of colours around it is a whole other thing. Mostly ends up with guesswork or sticking to the greyscale values.
0to255 aims to take all that away. Says its creator Shaun Chapman:
I built 0to255 to make my job easier. I’m a web designer who works with colors every day. Usually, I’ll start with a color I want to use, then I’ll manipulate it for various functions. For example, I might brighten a link in its hover state or darken a button’s border to make it contrast with surrounding elements. Web designers do things like these several times an hour.
Just enter your seed colour, and it will throw you a list of variants you can use for your projects. For added awesomeness, the buttons and links on the page use that very colour pool. I’m yet to use the service for a real project, but I know the time will come soon enough.
