Google Releases Colorful New Themes for Chrome

Google has apparently released a dozen new themes for Google Chrome, available via the Chrome Store. Unlike many of the third-party themes for Chrome, these come directly from the maker. Which makes me wonder why most of the themes in this collection are simple shades after shades of color, while some are simply ridiculous, like this High Contrast Colorful one here. I’m still glad Google chose to release them because they’ve brought me my favorite one from this lot, which is this stunning “Just Black” theme here.

Serif’s Affinity Publisher Available Now in Free Public Beta

Serif has just announced that Affinity Publisher, the company’s new Desktop Publishing app, is now available in a Free public beta. The company had revealed that it was working on a third app, after Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, via a tweet back in July.

You can download the free beta of Affinity Publisher for both Mac and Windows systems, with the fairly straightforward system requirements available here. The company does note that this is a beta, so you should not use it for any important production work at this time.

It’s great to see Serif working on these incredible alternatives for Adobe’s apps like Illustrator, Photoshop, and now InDesign. I’ve downloaded the beta on my Mac and will be sharing my thoughts here very soon.
