Your mobile device makes for a perfect journaling tool, doesn’t it? You carry it all the time, so it’s always with you no matter where you are. It’s almost always connected to the internet. It comes with a smart keyboard to type on and a fantastic camera to take photos or shoot video. All this makes is very easy to jot down your moments & experiences into your phone and recollect them months, even years later. There are already some beautiful journaling apps available for the iPhone — we’ve talked about Momento, Roller Journal and Day One in the past. Journalized is another played in this category and one that brings a suave UI and an elegant experience.
Journalized features a beautiful UI with a wooden texture as the background and elements with subtle gradients. It gives you a stunning screen to quickly add your moments, even letting you add multiple photos or videos to it. The app lays out a neat timeline of moments you have added to it & you can scroll through the entire timeline quite easily and quickly jump to any particular moments. Journalized lets you add moments for past dates, so this comes in handy in case you forgot to feed in your moments while you were vacationing in Hawaii. There’s also a calendar view that shows you the dates with entries in blue.
Journalized has some pretty awesome features that makes it stand out from the rest, but there’s still a lot of ground it has to cover. Unlike Day One, there are no iPad or Mac versions of Journalized. It also lacks the ability to add a PIN for security. But if you’re looking for a standalone app with the UI and features I’ve just described, you can grab Journalized for just $0.99 on the App Store.
Update: We have just been told by the developer that the next version of the app is already being worked on and adds many of the most requested features — including iCloud and Dropbox support and passcode lock. It should be available on the App Store in about a couple of weeks.
