First up is the absolutely brilliant redesign of ABSOLUT's vodka range done by The Brand Union. The new look to the iconic Vodka range brings it into a new era of design and we love it. Design Taxi has some great close ups of most of the new designs as well.
Tea-Reading’s Amazing iOS Icon
We’re always on the lookout for exceptionally designed icons and this icon for the iOS app Tea-Reading had us drooling, literally. Tea-reading is an app that revives the old tradition of tea-reading, but its icon is downright stunning. It’s a tea-cup on a square saucer, with a beautiful texture to the liquid tea, with tea leaves at the bottom. Here’s a full 512px version of the icon. Isn’t it amazing?
Press 1.4
Press is our favourite RSS Android app. They blow us away with their updates each time and they finally added support for Fever in version 1.4 in addition to other welcome features like offline image caching and a few UI tweaks. The app looks stunning on high resolution screens and if you use RSS on Android, Press has you covered. It is available on Google Play for $2.99.
Viticci’s Editorial Feature
Federico Viticci is like a Gaul from Asterix comics with magic potion. Only here developers are Getafix and their apps are the magic potion that drives him. He takes automation on iOS to a whole new level. His posts on automation are absolute must reads if you own an iOS device and he really hit it out of the ball park with his feature on the newly released app, Editorial. It is insanely long and has a boat load of images and a few videos. It may even crash your mobile browser.
Simply Weather
Simply Weather is a very nice menu bar utility by Emerys that displays the weather for your current location. The menu bar icon displays the temperature and you can hover over the icon to see a short description of the current conditions. Tapping on it reveals the lovely popover with a nice big climacons depicting the conditions along with the temperature right now and a four day forecast. Simply Weather is exactly what you need if you want the weather conditions on your Mac and is available for $1.99 on the Mac App Store.
Pure for Flickr
Pure for Flickr is an absolutely brilliant app that puts your Flickr content first. There’s virtually no app Chrome — the photos get the full screen estate so that you can enjoy your feed in stunning clarity. It’s slick and supports a bunch of features including commenting & search. You can share a photo onto your typical social networks and the app has a very easy to navigate UI. At $0.99 on the App Store, it’s a lovely little app if you spend your time browsing Flickr.
