There are tons of weather apps on the App Store today, each trying to outdo the others in its own unique way. While most of them essentially look similar, there are some standouts that really shine, like Weather 2x, Weather HD and Aelios. MINIMETEO is another such app with a simple & beautiful UI. It’s a native iPad weather app designed by Alberto Antoniazzi and developed by Andrea Baldon.
MINIMETEO has a very simple and pleasing interface. It is almost ‘Metro’ if you may. The app has very nice solid colours and a few sounds thrown in. When you launch the app, you are greeted with 7 tiles representing the weather forecast for all 7 days of the week. The biggest tile on the left shows you the forecast for today at 3 hour intervals with brilliant glyphs depicting weather conditions. There is a switch on the left that lets you toggle the temperature unit. Each tile color corresponds to the weather condition for that day. The app isn’t the most detailed weather app on the App Store but it is definitely one of the best looking ones out there. You can add cities to your favourite places in the app in the nice menu that pops up from the left. The app also lets you see 7 city weather conditions at once with an All In One mode. For some reason this picks the top 7 places and doesn’t let you scroll to see the weather in other cities.
If you are looking for a simple weather app for the iPad that has a really nice interface, MINIMETEO has you covered. It is available on the App Store for $1.99.
