ProCSSor is a new app out for the Mac that lets you format and compress your CSS files. If that name sounds familiar to you, it’s because we have previously written about it here on Beautiful Pixels — back when it was a web app.
ProCSSor is now available as a native Mac app and brings along all the fantastic features it boasted as a web app. The UI of ProCSSor borrows from the Tweetie-like interface that we’ve been seeing in many new apps these days, but to me, the UI looks more along the lines of the Github for Mac app. The three vertical tabs on the left let you choose between selecting a local file, typing your own code or link to a remote file. You can drag and drop files into the app as well.
The app features a beautifully simple “PROCSS” button at the bottom, with a cancel “X” on the left and the settings glyph on the right. ProCSSor lets you choose your own style with indents and selectors, so you can pretty much play around with the settings and get the output to your liking. What’s more, you can even create a Droplet from within the app. It already supports all CSS3 and vendor-specific CSS properties and has command-line access for build process integration as well.
ProCSSor is available for $6.99 from the Mac App Store and is a must-have for anyone who plays with CSS files.
