Gradient is a fantastic little utility app for OS X that helps you design beautiful CSS3 gradients. And boy does it come up with some tasty gradient previews.
Gradient App is a nifty tool for the Mac that lets you pick that colors quickly and easily and automatically generates the corresponding CSS code for it. The app boasts a feature where — using its custom color picker — it magnifies the pixels on the screen for you so you can pick virtually any color you want. It has a very simple and easy-to-understand layout so you’ll be making beautiful gradients within minutes of installing the app. There’s also a nifty tutorial display on first launch.
Gradient isn’t just a simple app though — it also boasts some power features like adjusting RGB, HEX or HSL values of colors. The app also lets you choose which browser prefixes you want, along with the color fallbacks and output types. You can choose between linear or radial gradients with a button switch. There are also a bunch of nifty shortcuts to make your workflow even easier. The developers are already working towards adding additional features like adding SASS support, multi-step gradients and some “Super secret coolness”.
In my testing, I found Gradient App to be an extremely nifty tool. I personally know quite a few front-end developer folks who have already bought the app after I asked them to check it out — and it has already eased their workflow for them. Gradient App is available for just $4.99 on the Mac App Store.
