Hours — the absolutely gorgeous time tracking app for iPhone that we wrote about back in July has released its iOS 8 update a few days ago. The update adds new functionality to the app that quite literally saves you time by making it easier to manage your timers in the app. Hours now comes with a Today widget that you can add to your Notification Center. Unfortunately, with the release of iOS 7, the UI started feeling out of place. The status bar being…

My Finances, the ridiculously minimal finance tracking app for iPhone & iPad that we wrote about back in May this year, has been updated today with a notable new feature that takes full advantage of iOS 8 and one of its new APIs. You can now add a Today widget to your Notification center that gives you a quick overview of the Income & Expense transactions your are currently tracking in the app. Thanks to this, My Finances now requires iOS 8 to be installed on your iOS device and won’t work on devices running iOS 7. The Today widget…

TextExpander is an immensely useful tool on a Mac, saving your precious time and keystrokes. TextExpander quietly sits in your menubar and allows you to automatically enter frequently used text such as email signatures, postal addresses, URLs, Kaomojis, etc. by setting up abbreviations in the app that auto expand when entered. It’s a nifty tool if you spend your time typing a lot. With the launch of iOS 8, TextExpander 3 for iOS has been released on the App Store today. It’s a completely new app that brings one very important feature to iOS. Previously, TextExpander snippets would only work…
