Nylas — the company behind the beautiful and elegant mail app Nylas N1 has today announced that the app has been rebranded as Nylas Mail. Along with this rebranding, the company has also introduced a Free tier for the app called ‘Nylas Basic’.
Nylas Mail (née Nylas N1) is a beautifully crafted email app that works across the Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms. It features an elegant UI and a host of features including Unified Inbox, Open and Link Tracking, Rich Contacts, Undo Send and Quick Reply templates. It offers a delightful experience in managing your inboxes.
Nylas Mail is powered by the Nylas Sync Engine — the cloud-based core of the Nylas platform that sits between the app and your email service provider, giving the app the ability to offer features like Snooze and Reminders. Thanks to this, at launch, Nylas offered two options — you could either run the Nylas Sync Engine on your own cloud infrastructure for Free, or you could sign up to use Nylas’s own service (Nylas Pro) for $12/month. Early adopters were given a year’s worth of Pro subscription for free as well.
Today’s announcement introduces a new free tier called Nylas Basic that lets you use Nylas Mail for free. The company has rewritten their sync engine to be 20x faster than before, and parts of it sync directly with your email service provider. Nylas Basic includes most of the major features from Nylas Pro, and features like snoozing, reminders, send later, and mail merge are coming soon.
Nylas Basic also supports the many Nylas Plugins and Themes available here.
Nylas Basic is available for Mac now, with Windows and Linux versions on their way. You can still subscribe to Nylas Pro for $12/month and get power features listed here.
