Here at Beautiful Pixels, we love Google’s Chrome Experiments. We’ve already written about two amazing such experiments — Super Sync Sports and Chrome Maze and for the last few days, we haven’t stopped playing Roll It.
Roll It is another one of Google’s many Chrome Experiments that uses both your Desktop and Smartphone devices. It involves using your smartphone (ideally running Chrome) as the ball for one of those arcade games you play at a fair. You can choose between 1 to 3 players, and you only need one phone as it’s a turn-by-turn game. Once connected and sync’d, you can aim and swing with your phone and watch the ball do its thing on the desktop. It’s quite a lot of fun when you’re competing with someone, though you can play along as well. You get nice chances in each level and the difficulty increases with each level. There are some special balls that you encounter along the way that can earn you extra points.
The graphics and animations are brilliantly done and we had no trouble running them. After every level, you’re presented a winning ticket which has a really nice animation attached to it. The developers of these experiments continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible using modern web technologies and of course, continue to blow us away with their skills.
You can try Roll It by clicking here. While you’re at it, Racer is a lot of fun too, when it works.
