The internet has so many image sharing platforms, but none of them so far have consolidated their activities into one workflow. I reviewed Meedeor a while ago, and continue to use it, but it doesn’t cover all its bases.
Instagram is a brand new image sharing service and app, that aims to consolidate the shooting, processing, and sharing of images across services. Not just that, it aims to build a social network for all your shares, including a section for popular images. The iPhone app also allows you to see a feed of your activity, including get notifications for any comments and updates. The iPhone app is also very beautiful, with a cloth texture for its title bar, and a nicely shaped toolbar at the bottom. Sharing images involves selecting your picture from the library or snapping a fresh shot, adding a nice effect to it, and then selecting from among a bunch of social services like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc..
Best of all, the app is free, and comes highly recommended. Interesting icon, too. [If you’re looking for friends on Instagram, you may follow my shares at ‘goobi’].
