Over the past few days, there has been quite a lot of buzz about a certain “new kid on the block” iOS app. The app has been praised for taking the perfect approach to rating & recommending things for your friends and followers by many and has been receiving splendid ratings on the App Store as well. Yep, we’re talking about Stamped.
Stamped is a new app for iPhone that takes a very simple, interesting and the correct approach towards the whole idea of “rating and recommendation apps” for iOS. There have been quite a few apps, released on the App Store before Stamped, that let you rate places, things and other random stuff. So why has Stamped caught the eye of the public? Well, for starters, Stamped keeps the whole process fairly simple. In Stamped, if you’d like to recommend something, you give it a stamp of approval. There are no fields to fill up, ratings to give out or photos to upload. Like the coffee at the café around the corner? Give it your stamp of approval and your friends automatically know about it. Others can then ‘Like’ this, add their own stamp or add to their To-Do list. You are given 100 stamps to begin with and you earn more when your friends like what you’ve been stamping.
Another fantastic thing about Stamped is that it takes a very ‘Instagram-ish’ approach — the whole network is based around just the iPhone app. And boy does the app look gorgeous. The designers of Stamped have gone ahead and put in an abundance of tasty pixels. Not just that, the app features some delicious typography to go along. Using the app just feels fantastic and has already made its way to my homescreen. Go ahead and grab it from the App Store — it’s Free.
