We internet beings all have a list of our favorite websites that we want visit almost every day. These websites may either be our source of news, entertainment, social media or simply our email service. We check these websites regularly, and most of us have this list bookmarked in our browser. But doing this on your iPad’s browser is not only cumbersome, but also seems cluttered. Thankfully, there’s an app for that.
Favomatic is an app for iPad that lets you maintain a list of your frequently visited websites and presents these in a gorgeous UI. Each website is presented as a button, tapping which takes you to the site in your native browser. You can specify the interval (minutes/hours) between each visit to the site, so the button stays inactive for that period. Here’s how the developer described Favomatic:
Think of it as a to-do list that helps you in that daily routine. It not only reminds you to check out something you were about to forget but it also makes sure not to check it too often.
Favomatic comprises of Collections — a collection of websites you want to club together and Clicklets — launch buttons for each website. The UI uses a wonderful color scheme and the pixels are indeed beautifully placed. The app also pulls in the website’s favicon automatically when you add its clicklet to the list.
Favomatic is one of those apps that isn’t a necessity, but it certainly makes things easier and better when you start using it. In my little conversation with the developer, I was told some fantastic new features are being worked on and an iPhone version is also on the cards. Favomatic is FREE with Ads on the App Store, and ads can be removed for 99 cents.
