From the Seinfeld episode, “The Betrayal” Jerry Seinfeld: (Edit) George can never know about this. It’ll crush him. Elaine Benes: All right, all right; I’ll put it in the vault. In today’s world, you can never be too careful with your safety and security online. By now everyone has read Mat’s incident which basically shook everyone up. Everyday, people end up trusting other services with more and more of their information. There are also too many services that need you to setup an account with them. The number of good weather apps in the App Store is pretty mindblowing, borderline ridiculous. There’s a weather app of every kind for your iOS device. I know most people are sick of weather apps by now and already have the one they love, but more choices are never bad. Savvy Apps, known for apps like Agenda Calendar and Buzz Contacts now aim to change the way you experience weather on iOS with Today Weather. When you launch the app you are prompted to add your location and the app has 4 main views. The main view has the location,…

March 2013 is just around the corner. Twitter requires all its 3rd party apps to conform to API V1.1 by then. This basically means your favourite Twitter apps will soon be crippled. I have already been facing the rate limit errors and being forced to use Twitter’s official apps makes me want to use Facebook. App.net has been steadily growing and the API keeps getting better. The app ecosystem is great on all important platforms already. Felix by Tigerbears has been designed for App.net from the ground up and is a feature packed minimally gorgeous App.net client for iPhone. When…

Back in the day, Twitterrific was the first app I downloaded for Twitter on my second generation iPod touch. And I’m sure most people experienced Twitter on their iOS device for the first time on Twitterrific. Ever since then, the app has gone through 4 versions and we now have Twitterrific 5. Twitterrific 5 uses the built in Twitter integration in iOS and also lets you add an account…

While the App Store has quite a few calendar apps, I don’t end up using most of them because while they usually look better than the default calendar.app on iOS, they don’t offer enough to warrant me removing the calendar.app with its icon that tells you the day and date from my homescreen. I’ve been using Siri for most of my Calendar related work but we all know how slow Siri is sometimes. Preshit told me about Fantastical a while back and I ended up buying it a few days later. It is by far the best calendar app I…

With Twitter screwing more and more developers over with their API bullshit, they are losing 3rd party talent to App.net and the likes. App.net also has a nice developer incentive program. I await the 3rd party Twitter app holocaust that will take place when they fully implement API v1.1 in March next year. Till then, we have some really good App.net clients coming up. Stream by Kolin and Christian is unique and beautiful. When you launch the app you immediately notice the stunning blues used throughout. I absolutely love what they have done with the navigation bar colour. At first…
