Our thanks to Sparrow for sponsoring the RSS feed this week. Sparrow’s UI makes using email fun again. It features a highly-customizable UI that you can configure to your liking. I personally prefer the minimal (Tweetie-like) view, navigate using the keyboard shortcuts and absolutely love the inline quick-reply option. If you prefer, you can also use the full-screen mode. Sparrow comes loaded with a host of features including Full-IMAP support, Gmail’s labels, send and archive and multiple accounts with an unified inbox. It features emails organized by conversation view and even Facebook integration, which pulls the information and pictures of…

The fine folks at noidentity are no strangers to design. We’ve already featured ListBook here on Beautiful Pixels and their other two books apps, MoneyBook and BudgetBook carry some fine pixels as well. The duo is at it again with the release of their fourth app — Yearly. Yearly app is a gorgeous collection of pixels that reads and imports your Address Book and presents a superb overview as a list of contacts with upcoming birthdays or anniversaries. Yearly will also remind you via a notification at the time you specify in the settings. Yearly also tells you how many…
Reprise is a beautiful iOS music app that claims to be the best way to enjoy your iTunes Music library. When I first checked out the app on the App Store, I wasn’t sold. Sure, the app looked pretty, but I wondered if I needed another music app. I decided to try it out anyway. Reprise’s first impressions are quite good. It featured a dark user-interface and a quite enjoyable user experience for playing your music library. Designed by Mathieu White and developed by Adam Bell, Reprise features a unique algorithm implemented in shuffle wherein it makes sure that it’ll…
Oink managed to generate a fair amount of buzz last week after it debuted on the App Store. It is, after all, the first product out of Milk, Kevin Rose’s newest venture after he left Digg. I’ll be honest, I was quite curious ever since I heard about the app and had been waiting for its release. Oink looks gorgeous. The UI features a nice textured background and the fonts and UI elements look stunning on my iPhone 4’s Retina Display. The tabs at the bottom behave very much like Instagram and other few apps wherein the center tab is…

When Patrick sent me the link to a preview of this app, it barely took seconds for me to fall in love with the pixels. Flight Card’s first impressions were that good. Flight Card is a simple iPhone app that lets you look up your flight and presents the details through a “reinvented” approach to your boarding pass. It features over 90,000 flights from 1500 airlines flying through 16,000 airports. Flight Card’s design is simple and subtle. Designed by Jonatan Castro, Flight Card features very elegant color schemes and elements. There are no shiny gradients or glowing elements. Every screen…
