Back in August, we wrote about Benchwarmer — a brilliant little browser extension for Dribbble that replaces the bland look of ‘New Tabs’ in Chrome and shows you shots from your Dribbble feed or based on a search term of your choice. It is a nifty little tool to have in your browser, specially since it doesn’t make you go to the site and spend time there but instead, shows you the content as you open a new tab.
The team behind Benchwarmer has released another such Chrome extension, this time for Instagram. Titled Instatabs, it works exactly like its sister and comes with its own set of pretty pixels. With Instatabs, you can Log In using your Instagram account (OAuth) and then “Like” the photos from your feed. When you hover over a photo, a small slide-out window appears at the bottom with the user’s info and the number of likes the photo has. There are tiny little animations spread throughout the screen, so it’s a wonderful experience using it. You can either view your own feed or search for any string on Instagram. It even gives you the option to show 6, 9 or 12 photos in a grid.
You can download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
