Before getting to the platter, you have only 4 days left to get your own official Beautiful Pixels tee from Cotton Bureau. They ship starting April 17th. Also if you’re interested in products from Beautiful Pixels like stickers, coasters and mugs, here is a short survey.
A Modern Designer’s Canvas
Andrew Clarke from Stuff & Nonsense wrote an amazing article on Smashing MAgazine that every designer should read. It covers a lot of ground and he speaks from his wealth of experience. It is easily one of the best pieces I’ve read on design in a really long time.
Stand In for Photoshop CC
Stand In doesn’t bother with creating it’s own complete suite of tools like Briefs but it builds on Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud. Everything from the images used on this website to the mouse over animations are great. I particularly love the encryption glyph animation and how the navigation bar and tab bar appear on the iOS device glyphs next to it when you move your mouse over them.
Patatap
Patatap is a great time waster that lets you compose music with great animations by pressing keys. The website just asks you to turn your speakers up and start pressing keys. Patatap has been created by Google Creative Lab’s Jono Brandel and Lullatone.
SS Glyphish Symbolset
The spectacular Glyphish complete icon set is now also available as a font. There are 366 symbols in both filled and unfilled states and they look really really good on all screens. Joseph Wain’s icons are more than worth it. They fit perfectly on iOS 7.
Really Good Emails
As the name suggests, Really Good Emails is a collection of the great design work that is put into emails. You can search across categories or just click a category and view some inspiring stuff.
Android Mockup & Concept Tool
Nikolai Prettner’s Android Mockup & Concept Tool was just updated to version 3.1. The update includes support for the various action bar styles used in popular apps and Holo colours throughout. It is a nice tool to quickly mockup an Android app. It is available for free at the link above.
