Instapaper is one of the oldest and best apps on the App Store. Even after Marco sold it, the app has been continuously receiving great updates and becoming better overall. It is my go to “read it later” app. Today, Instapaper was updated to Version 7.0 and it is made for iOS 9.
Instapaper 7 finally has article thumbnails and this makes the app a lot more visually pleasing. The iPad app has been redone for a more consistent interface across iOS and it even supports split screen multitasking on the iPad Air 2. Picture in picture video is also supported for YouTube or Vimeo videos. Apple’s new system font San Francisco is available as a reading option, which is great because the font is actually pretty great.
Overall, Instapaper 7 is a great update but I can’t help but wonder how counter intuitive split screen multitasking is for a “distraction free” app like Instapaper. Instapaper 7 is available for free on the App Store.
