ReadKit 2.5
ReadKit for Mac has been my choice of RSS app for over 3 years now and I spend several hours in a day reading through the content it brings to me via FeedBin and Instapaper/Pocket. However, the app’s development had somewhat stagnated in 2016 with lack of updates and bug fix releases, so much so that I was looking for a replacement. Thankfully, the developer has been working on a substantial update over the last few months and version 2.5 of the app is now ready for the Mac App Store.
ReadKit 2.5 introduces a new design, a new theme and a host of other improvements to the app. The app now sports a unified toolbar instead of the two toolbars at the top and bottom in the previous versions. I like that the Search field has been moved to the top now. This update also introduces support for the Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pros and adds a new “Black” theme to the app. I do wish there was a way to customize or add your own themes though.
ReadKit 2.5 is a Free Update to existing users and the app is available for $9.99 on the Mac App Store.
