Earlier this year, we wrote about IconJar — a fantastic Mac app to organize and manage all your icon sets. It’s a great utility for designers and front-end developers who work with a lot of icon sets, especially considering how well the app manages to handled everything you throw at it. It retails for just $20, so it’s quite an easy buy.
Similarly, Iconfinder is a lovely online resource where you can find a ton of icons for all kinds of work. The site holds a vast collection of icons, all of them neatly named, categorized and tagged. Iconfinder yesterday announced that the site now offers downloads in a new IconJar format.
All icon sets on Iconfinder are now supported in IconJar format. That means more than 40,000 icon sets are available for an effortless import to IconJar along with their metadata. This is a step forward in making the process of working with icons easier and great news for those who maintain extensive icon libraries while also frequently search for new designs. It was about time!
[…] we at Iconfinder see IconJar as our best desktop “buddy”.
If you’re an Iconfinder user, you can now download any of the icon sets in the new IconJar format. Once downloaded, you can double-click on the IconJar file included in the .zip, all your icons will be imported and open directly in the IconJar app. All these icons will be neatly organized and tagged, making things super easy for you.
You can sign up with Iconfinder for a Free account. The site offers Pro subscriptions starting at $9 per month, and you can claim a cool 70% OFF on your first month if you sign up using this link.
