In today’s day and age, almost everyone takes photos. Be it the continuously falling prices of Point-n-shoot cameras or the ever-increasing megapixels in cameraphones that everyone is carrying around these days, one thing is certain — managing these photos is a task in itself. There are apps like Picasa or iPhoto that make this task easy, but there are quite a few people out there who are looking to achieve this with a manual approach. They want to manage their photos the old-fashioned way of filing them in named folders. How do you do this in a better way? You use Sortpad.
Sortpad is a fantastic app for iPhone and iPad that lets you sort and file photos into folders of your choice. Simply choose the bunch of photos you want to sort and the folders you want to file them into from Sortpad’s server app running on your PC or Mac and use your iPhone’s or iPad’s glorious display to simply view and flick your photos into the corresponding folder that you set. This is surprisingly fast and easy to do — almost to the point of feeling you’re doing this with actual photos.
Sortpad even has a slightly advanced mode, if you’re looking for a more modern approach to sorting. Sortpad includes the ability to tag photos. Just like you’d copy/move your photos with Sortpad, you can also tag your photos by flicking them into the zones. Sortpad ingeniously adds these tags to the metadata of the file, so this information can also be read by other apps. The desktop app tells you which photos have been tagged and which tags were applied to them.
Sortpad connects over Wi-Fi, so you can sit back and relax on your favorite chair or Sofa and start filing your photos & is a universal app, so works on all your iOS devices. The app sells for a regular price of $7.99, but the developers are running a special Beautiful Pixels sale where the app is available for just $5.99 on the App Store. The server/desktop app is free for Windows and Mac and can be downloaded from here.
