We’ve already written about quite a few apps to help you track your TV shows, both on iOS and Android. I regularly watch a lot of TV Shows and it’s easy to forget which show is airing an episode the next day. Over the last few days, I’ve been playing with Teevee 2 — a beautiful new app to help you track and learn about your TV Shows and I’ve been very impressed with it.
Teevee 2 uses a really elegant color scheme and layout that fit perfectly with the overall aesthetics of the app. It makes adding your favorite shows very easy by giving you a simple search bar that searches for shows as you type and adding them to the library with a single tap. According to the developers, Teevee 2 tracks a catalogue of over 30,000 TV Shows, so the shows you want to track are probably available in there. Once you are done adding the shows, the app displays them in a vertical list using some stunning artwork/poster from the respective shows. On the right of each cell, you have a countdown for when the next episode airs. You can pull the cell left-to-right to delete it or pull it from right to left to see the info about the next episode to air and enable/disable notifications for it. As you slide towards the left, there’s a lovely parallax scrolling effect to the text overlaid on the background poster.

Tapping on any show takes you to a different view with 4 tabs at the bottom — Upcoming, Info, Cast and Episodes. The Upcoming tab displays info about the next episode to be aired, along with a link to view a preview clip (if available). The Info tab lists meta data about the show itself, the Cast tab list all the characters, the name of the actor playing the role and their stunning photos in a circular avatar mask and the Episodes tab, well, lists all the episodes. Tapping on the episode number on the left marks it as watched.
Teevee 2 is a huge improvement over the first version and I absolutely love the new design. The aesthetic of the main screen is amazing and the app has a great feel to it. It’s available for $0.99 on the App Store.
