Capo 3 for Mac came out a few months ago. Today SuperMegaUltraGroovy have released a new app, Capo Touch for iOS along with Capo 3.1 for Mac. Capo Touch aims to help you learn how to play songs on your iOS device. It analyzes songs and tells you what chords are played where and there are a variety of string instrument options. Capo 3.1 for Mac brings iCloud sync and a new icon. Capo has existed on iOS before, but Capo Touch is a completely new app and not just some watered down Mac app port. It looks gorgeous and…

Android has come a really long way since version 4.0. 4.0 was a step in the right direction and Google eventually released design guidelines for the OS. 4.1 was an amazing release and we saw more and more (unfortunately not as many as I had hoped) apps making use of the new HOLO design language and brilliant features. Project Butter made newer devices actually feel smooth to use and not everything scrolled like crap. Apps like Press and Pocket Casts for Android are still some of the best apps available on any platform. After 4.1, nothing really changed design wise…

I really like Interesting by Mike Rundle. It is a great app to check headlines from a variety of topics and send stuff to Pocket for reading later. The News by Tosin Afolabi is an iPhone app quite similar. It is an app to access Hacker News and Designer News together. On launch, you are brought into the Designer News section of the app. It has a very elegant look with a blue theme throughout. Tapping the overflow button on the top right will let you switch between recent stories, M.O.T.D, search, and settings. You can login from the settings…

On first launch, you get access to a word of the day card and a search bar above it. This card can be swiped to access previous cards for…

We all know how limited iOS can be for power users. When I say power users, I’m not talking about people who spend all their time customizing the look of their devices instead of using the actual devices. Apps like Editorial, Drafts, and Launch Center Pro give you hope. Editorial by Ole Zorn is probably the most powerful text editing app ever. Its automation abilities surpass anything I ever thought possible on iOS and even as just a markdown editor, it makes things very easy. Editorial just hit v1.1 (free update) and this brings an updated look and feel to…
