FlightTrack is Going Away
<Sad Trombone>
We have some bad news to report : FlightTrack — the very beloved and probably the best flight-tracking app, is being shut down. Mobiata, the developers who are part of Expedia, will be moving some of FlightTrack’s features to the Expedia app itself.
What does it mean for those of us who use FlightTrack? Well, the app is, as of 16th of February, off the shelves in the App Store and the Google Play Store. From the 1st of March onwards, the supporting servers will be switched off, meaning that the app will no longer get flight updates or flight status notifications after that.
For those customers who have bought the app recently, the developers have outdone themselves with a very commendable gesture:
We do want to honor your recent investments in our apps. From February 22 to March 21, 2017, we are offering users who purchased FlightTrack 5 or FlightBoard after August 1, 2016, a $10 iTunes App Store or Google Play voucher per app (within 5-7 business days).
Detailed instructions on claiming the voucher are available on the website.
We’re really sad to see FlightTrack go. Join us, as we mourn another fantastic app lost to the great CDN in the sky.
