A stunning implementation of word count on the iPad (and iPhone). If you don’t select any text, it’ll show you the word count of the entire document.
PlainText by HogBaySoftware is my current favourite text editor on the iPad, and I highly recommend you check out. Jesse Grosjean is nailing every feature, one update at a time. PlainText is free with ads on the App Store, universal, and just $0.99 in-app during November.
UPDATE: Someone raised the question “I know what will happen when I tap cut, copy or paste, but what happens when you tap Word (108)?”. Well I was intrigued, since I hadn’t tried that myself. Turns out Grosjean has thought about that as well, as it throws you a popup letting you know of the number of paragraphs and characters in that selection.
