Dispatch, an email app by Hon Cheng and Lin Junjie, has come a long way since it was featured in The Platter almost a year ago. When iOS 7 shipped, Dispatch was updated to support background email fetch and an all new look with some other great features. Today, Dispatch 2.0, a free update to the original app is available and it is amazing. Dispatch 2.0 sports a refreshed look with better iconography, but its main attractions are the ability to view all folders for an account (not just inbox like previous versions of the app) and the unsubscribe action.…

It is pretty shocking that there’s still no Instagram app for iPad. Not only do iPads have decent cameras on them now, but they are also great to edit photos with, and view media in general. Sure, you can use the iPhone app in 2x mode, but that really isn’t a good experience. I’ve been using Retro for Instagram on iPad for a long time now and it just hit 2.0, which is a great update.
OmniFocus is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful productivity suites out there. The past 12 months have seen The Omni Group completely take OmniFocus into a new direction. While most users have liked the changes and the new look, Jared Sinclair isn’t a fan. My main complaint with the iPhone app was the lack of a ‘swipe to go back’ option and that has been added as of version 2.1. OmniFocus 2 for Mac on the other hand has been through massive beta testing in the last few months and it finally ships today. I’m going…
Kentucky Route Zero(henceforth KRZ) by Cardboard Computer is an insanely great looking point and click adventure (this is an understatement) game. They should have just called it “screenshot as wallpaper: the official game” because it is visually that good. I reviewed Act I and II almost a year ago and Act III finally released last week. Conway has a flashback to a conversation with Lysette in the beginning of this episode. He recollects an old memory that has stuck with him. Every character you interact with in this act talks about how something from the past has affected them. I’m…
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Castro by Supertop, the more I used it. I wrote about its v1.0 back in December and it has proved to be a solid podcast app for iPhone. Although it shipped with a gorgeous UI, it did lack some important features at launch. Today, Castro v1.1 is available on the App Store and it is a welcome update.
Today on The Dialogue, we have Russell Ivanovic from Shifty Jelly. Our goal behind The Dialogue has been to not limit the interviews to just designers and so this time, we thought we’d change things a little bit. Russell is the face of Shifty Jelly, developers of apps like Pocket Casts & Pocket Weather Australia. We love their apps on iOS and Android and it was great talking to him. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Well I’m Russell, and currently I’m a developer at the best company on earth — Shifty Jelly. I started Shifty Jelly…
