Pushpin 4.0 Adds Offline Support & More

A little over a year since the release of Pushpin 3 which was a major overhaul of the app and much needed for iOS 7, Pushpin today has been updated to version 4.0. Pushpin 4.0 is an evolutionary update to the Pinboard client for iPhone and iPad that introduces a bunch of new features to the app and fixing a long list of bugs.

The biggest addition with this release is support for offline reading. Using Pushpin, you can now download complete webpages and read them offline at your own pace. You can set your bookmarks to download for offline use, which saves the entire page, complete with its images, CSS and Javascript code and then spend time reading them as you travel or wait for someone at place with crappy network coverage. This update also introduces the ability to save your searches and add them to the sidebar, so that you can get to a specific group of bookmarks quickly when you need to access them. You can also have the app launch directly into this view, which is a nifty feature. Other notable feature additions in this release include support for displaying the date when the bookmark was added and the ability to set bookmark description from the text selected in Safari. Additionally, there are dozens of other minor additions and bug fixes with this release.

Pushpin for Pinboard is a Universal app and available for $9.99 on the App Store. This update is free for existing users.
